It is reported that the Board of Directors of the Meizhou Mazu Temple in Putian and the Putian Meizhou Mazu Charitable Foundation have repeatedly supported the development of the Meizhou Island Branch of the Affiliated Hospital of Putian University. They previously donated medical equipment, including a CT scanner and an ambulance, helping the branch improve its medical facilities and strengthen primary emergency care capacity. Since 2023, they have also run the weekend specialist clinic program "Mazu Heart to Heart: Safeguarding Health," bringing high-quality medical resources to the island so residents can receive treatment without leaving it. In 2023 and 2024, Zhao Liucheng, honorary chairman of the Ancestral Temple, coordinated resources from multiple parties and brought together medical specialists from Shanghai to provide free clinics at the Meizhou Island Branch of the Affiliated Hospital of Putian University, directly addressing residents' difficulties in accessing medical care. This donation of gastrointestinal endoscopy equipment further expands these charitable efforts and represents an important step toward improving the quality and capacity of healthcare on the island.
