On August 19, the cross-Strait poetry and couplet cultural exchange field research activity came to Meizhou Island, Mazu's birthplace. More than 50 writers and poets from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, including Guo Jie, Ouyang Qing, Liu Nengying, Chen Jianshun, Zhang Hengzhong, Hong Qingfeng, and Zeng Nengtin, visited the Meizhou Mazu Temple and drew cultural inspiration from on-site research, exploring resources for Mazu-related creation and carrying forward the poetic bond across the Taiwan Strait.

In the morning, the field research group went to the Meizhou Mazu Temple to visit and make a pilgrimage. Wu Guochun, vice chairman of the Ancestral Temple, warmly welcomed everyone and accompanied them in paying a three-offering tribute to Mazu.
