Mazu culture exhibition area and related spaces
The Meizhou Ancestral Temple Putian Guild Hall is located at the intersection of Licheng North Avenue and Fuxing Road in the urban area, in the former Beimo Building. Its establishment is a new measure by the temple board to advance Mazu cultural development in the new era, providing a new venue for cultural cooperation, friendship, and exchange. Free public access gives residents and visitors in Putian another place to learn about Mazu culture.
The nearly 400-square-meter first-floor exhibition area displays almost one thousand Mazu cultural and creative products, including sandalwood-painted Mazu statues, cloisonne Mazu tea sets, panoramic wood carvings of the ancestral temple, Mazu seals, purple-clay teapots, Mazu peace tea, and many other products rich in Mazu elements.
The second-floor Mazu culture exhibition area consists of three sections: Looking Back at Tianfei Hometown, Overview of the Meizhou Ancestral Temple, and Panorama of Mazu Belief and Customs. Through objects, video effects, historical continuity, and illustrated displays, it integrates cultural and natural scenery, allowing devotees from around the world to remember this revered holy mother and experience the deep historical roots of Mazu culture.
